What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring your completed new patient forms (if applicable), a valid ID, and your insurance information. If you're paying out-of-pocket, be sure to bring your payment method as well. This will help us get you checked in smoothly and start your appointment on time.

Do I need to arrive early for my appointment?

We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to allow time for check-in and any last-minute paperwork. This will ensure that we can begin your appointment on time and give you the full attention you deserve.

What if I’m running late for my appointment?

If you’re running late, please call us as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to accommodate you, but if you're significantly late, we may need to reschedule your appointment to ensure we can provide the proper care for all our patients.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance. This helps us accommodate other patients and reschedule your visit for a more convenient time.

Should I eat before my dental appointment?

Dr. Lericos always says "Never come to the dentist hungry!" If you are going to be receiving nitrous oxide, it is also recommended to have something in your stomach but not to eat too big a meal beforehand. If there are ever any questions, ask away.

What can I expect during a routine dental check-up?

During a routine check-up, our team will assess your overall oral health by performing an intra- and extra-oral exam of your teeth, jaw, gums, and oral cavity to rule out signs of any issues. We’ll also ask to take x-rays, if necessary, and provide a cleaning to remove plaque and tartar, as well as discuss any recommendations for future care.

Will the dental cleaning hurt?

Dental cleanings are typically painless, but some sensitivity or mild discomfort may occur, especially if you haven’t had a cleaning in a while. Our hygienists are skilled in making the process as comfortable as possible, and we’ll always check in to make sure you're okay.

How long will my appointment take?

A typical routine dental exam and cleaning usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour. However, the time can vary depending on the specific treatments needed. If you’re coming in for something more complex, we’ll give you a time estimate ahead of your visit.

What happens if I have a dental emergency?

If you’re experiencing a dental emergency, please call us right away. We make emergency care a priority and will do our best to get you seen as soon as possible. If it’s outside of regular office hours, you’ll receive instructions for emergency care.

How often should I visit the dentist?

We generally recommend visiting the dentist every six months for a routine check-up and cleaning. However, depending on your oral health needs, your dentist may suggest more frequent visits. Regular check-ups help catch potential issues early and maintain a healthy smile!
